new to linux

i am using sylpheed 2.4.1

no problem with receiving mail

on sending " 501 Syntactically invalid HELO argument(s)

Would much appreciate any help to solve or alternative small email messenger and how to install

in 'Account Preferences', go to the 'Advanced' tab, the put a tick in 'Specify a doman name' and enter mydomain (or whatever you want)....you probably have a hostname that contains invalid characters such as spaces or underscores.

If this doesn't work...attempt to send/recieve mail, then go to 'Tools' - 'Log window' and post the results here...you can edit the email addresses if you want.

Or just use Evolution ... :)
