If it all "looks" ok, then the chances are that it's your choice of authentication that's causing the problem. Double check the type of security /usernames / passwords you have set up on your wireless router against the information you're putting into your Acer.

Note, wired connections don't use this authentication mechanism which is generally why it's less of an issue to get working ...

Did you manage to get your netbook connected to the Livebox wireless network.   Is so could you help me please as I am having the same problem.   I'm getting a brilliant signal, 99%+ at times, but when I try to connect all I get is that the connection is 'pending'

it's most likely an authentication problem involving WPA or WPA2, try using WEP instead and check MAC address filtering is switched off in your router, or add the Eee PCs MAC to the allowed list, it could also be an IP address problem...is DHCP enabled in the router?

Connecting Orange Livebox to Eee PC 1000h or Linux computer

This is what I have done to connect my Orange Livebox to Linux Eee PC 1000h.

Step by Step:

1. Delete all pending networks going to:
a. Network
b. hilight connection name)
c. go to connection and click Disconnect
d. go to manage and click delete
e. continue deleling all connection name until it is blank.

2. Now create new connection name by
a. click create
b. hilight-Local Area Network - Wireless
c. Click - Next
d. Divice - Automatically it will come RaLink - RT 2790 Wireless...
e. Click - Next
f. Select "Dynamic IP address (DHCP)
g. Click Next
h. Browse your Livebox from "Browse Wireless Networks"
i. Hilight your Livebox and select "Choose"
j. Click Next
K. Now you'll see Dot in Any "that is fine" don't do anything here just select NEXT
L. This is important: Now you'll see Encryption Settings
m. Select the box - Enable encryption
n. Encryption type: choose "WPA"
o. Key: Type your 26 digit "you'll find this under the livebox IT IS CALLED SECURITY KEY- All letters in Capital, remember there is only number "Zero" don't type "o" and "No space"
p. Click Next
q. Name of the connection - Wireless Connection
r. Now go to your orange livebox and press "1" for 10 second
s. Come to the computer and Select Finish.
Wait for about 2 minutes and restart your computer.

If you still have a problem write me: meroant at hotmail.com

Thank you.

Try pressing the easy pair button on the box, i had your trouble, its the no.1 button, press and hold for approx. 7 seconds or until the red light flashes repeatedly, your box will then stay in easy pair mode for 10 minutesm hope this helps.
